So took ol Wedge for the MOT this morning. I don't do rain in my cars normally but managed to dodge that, but still damp. Pesky windows don't wind up well without a tug (one for the list of to do's), not normally an issue as the roof is off, windows down and sunny when I take it out.

My concerns were getting onto the rolling road, or rather in the first instance over the rolling road to the ramp, headlights adjustment as they were removed as they had been screwed solid to the pod at some point, thus removing the adjustment, and lastly the emissions.

I was told I was not allowed to view the MOT, so stood outside. As the MOT man came out I said it was a TVR and he seemed well chuffed to have something a little different. Anyhow he asked me to drive it onto the ramps for him, as I was concerned at the roller drop (as mentioned in previous posts), It was just about OK. He said to hang around just in case he couldn't find things.
It caused a bit of stir amongst the older ones in the garage, particularly one guy who used to work on Rover SD1's and Jags in fact he was an apprentice at a garage that serviced them.
The upside is the headlights did need adjusting he did that without even asking (top man), the emissions he thought would be a problem and it sailed through so that also no problem. My hand brake adjustment was spot on, being as it was not even working when I got it.

He mentioned that the anti-roll bar bushes will need replacing. Does anyone know what they are likely from?

The upside is it passed without advisory's so appy days.
A Wedge fully legal and on the road for another year..... (let's hope that's not the kiss of death again!!)

Good news.
I miss my Wedge & still think they look great.
My Chim has no adviseories. The first time I took it to the local Indy who does my bikes.
He said stay in the car, drive it on the ramp & push, pull, twist as required when asked.
He then said he was once left a TVR to test, never again.
Door was open keys in, drove onto the ramp.
He sat inside on the ramp & shouted for help.
Laugh i nearly got the fags out. laugh
He said he always asks the owner to stay in the car if its not run of the mill.

Congrats on MOT pass, always a relief. Managed to get mine through 2 weeks ago with 2 advisories regarding battery not being secure and reversing light not working.
On the Anti-Roll bar bushes, I replaced mine last year and I've no idea what they are from but you can buy them from Racetech direct. From memory I believe you need to measure the diameter of the actual roll bar as there are 2 different sizes apparently. Hope that helps.

Yes, well done on the MOT. My SEAC also passed last week with no advisories. Re the anti roll bar as said there are two diameters. Earlier Wedges had a 5/8" diameter bar and latter ones have a 1" diameter unit. Racetech and parts for TVRs (Racing Green) all stock them.

Thanks always a bonus when cars pass.

I had read somewhere about different Dias on the original OEM fitment, originally to do with caravan towing or something I think.
Many thanks for the link.
However, I went off the MOT man's description, having looked I think it is the drop link to anti-roll bar bushes that he was talking about.

I once saw a Harley towing a caravan, so I suppose it is possible....
