Hi ,putting back together steering rack on early mk1 fhc.Replaced rack mount buses with poly bush ones ,upon tightening still have play at nearside mount .Its like the bush is too small and u bracket is bottoming out before bush pinches rack tight .Anyone else found this ? .Will order new old style rubber mounts and try again .

There appears to be 2 sizes so you will probably have to measure which one you need.

Hi,thanks bluewedgy. top original bush says its r/h where if I'm not mistaken is the nearside one ,but I carnt find its mate on drivers side which is bigger to make the pair .

Hi ,seem to be 2 internal shapes for the smaller nearside bush .One has more of a key way shape than the other .I have the non key way version and rack can move .

Hi, I have not had my car long so have not had to remove the mounts (kiss of death that one). Perhaps that design gives extra capacity to grip when under compression.
