Hi folks,

I've been looking around but no joy. Where can I get the boot solenoid release button from please for the 350i. Button that's positioned in the bodyshell.

Cheers

The part number is RS 336602, still available from rs electronics. Just replaced mine as part of a re-trim. I too found out the plastic bung was from a table leg! Would be interested in a bling version if you have any details. I should really join Facebook I guess.

This might not help but i replaced mine with one from Maplin and it was exactly the same as the original so it must be pretty generic

Maplins went into administration in February, Thankfully I found out before heading into the city to find the place closed.

Probably killed off by e-bay as you would only pay Maplin prices if you couldn't wait a few days, Jeez I remember when Maplin only accepted postal orders and the arrival of new Maplin catalogue was like Christmas arriving early getmecoat

I used one of these off ebay, momentary switch but added a switched live wire for the led light and bling, works a treat

Leigh Jones made me an aluminium bush to house the switch.

That housing looks pretty good. Did you have the square hole originally? If so I guess its designed to cover it. I would be interested in one of those if Leigh can make another. Big improvement on the table leg bung!

Sorry for late response, I’d thought I’d replied, maybe I did!
Anyway It was a 27mm round hole and the Bush was 26 mm with a 30mm collar,Leigh made the bush up for me bought the momentary switch off the flea bay with the fly lead to connect. Added an extra switched live feed from the lighting and an Earth for the LED.

Thanks for the reply. Ah right, I was hoping it was for the square hole. I have emailed Leigh but had no reply yet. Maybe if the collar was over sized it would work on the square hole.
Looks really good though, nice jobthumbup
