My Targa roof panel has a rear seal fitted but when in position protrudes above the roof line. I think it's the correct one as it has the cut outs for the rear guides, also it has the moulded location pegs which fit into the existing holes in the roof panel. However when the panel is fitted the seal stands proud of the roof line by about 1/2" More annoying than anything as it doesn't leak! Any thoughts on replacements please?

Hi John

The 280i normally has the same as the door seal...the later cars had a "D" profile....any pics?

Hi Ziga. I'll post some up this evening. It's weird, as the seal looks correct but sits above the roof line. John C.

The bead may be too big if its the same as the door seal...is it getting squashed?

Possibly Ziga, I'll post up some pics this evening. Are the seals bespoke for the roof? As mine look as if they are? J C.

The 280i IIRC has this seal at the rear of the targa panel on the rear roof section...

and the later cars had this D-profile

Hi John

The seals on any wedge convertible are on the car and the roof hoop not the targa panel apart from the side seals for the windows.

Hi John

Oh just seen what you have done...As Andy says...That should be on the rear section...Not the targa panel...There is a lip on the rear section that the seal attaches to...I hope you have not split the panel with those screws...eek

Thanks Andy/Ziga. Roof panel was from a previous owner. The screws look old but not deeply seated I hope removable. Thanks for the informed observations. Cheers J C.
