Could anyone post a "before" pic of a 280i with the original 205/60/14 and an "after" pic of the same car with the 195/60/14 tires?

I cannot find a 14" performance tire in the 205 size (in US) and the 195 is said to be the best alternative size that doesn't run at risk of fouling the wheel arch. Someone here must have tried this, and since we all like to photograph our cars, maybe this will be an easy request.

It would be better for my purposes if these pictures show the tires prominently smile

Thanks - Drew

The Tasmin 200 had 195 tyres as a standard fit on 14" wheels - so if you find a pic of one of those online it would help give you an idea.

From that angle, it would make no difference whether the size was 195 or 205.

If they are both 60 profile the 205 will be approx 1/2"taller, not a glaring difference I'd agree wink

Hi Drew,

The only "performance" tire/tyre I can find in the correct size is the Federal SS-595. Reviews are fair, and the price is good.

Research it and tell us what you think.

Wilf.

Thanks Zig and Paso -
Agree that the 195 looks acceptable, although even a 1/4 inch loss of ground clearance will eventually show on something underneath, probably the freshly refinished chin spoiler. I'm shopping these for the 5.0 V8 280i. Its current Sumitomos have reached a combination of age and wear that warrant replacement - and I want a new owner to be able to enjoy it right away. The Federal 595s look good for the type of use I give the car - pushed hard in fair weather on dry roads - and I suppose whomever buys it will have similar habits. Someone please buy it, its too good not to get used and the SEAC gets all my attention. Not sure I'll mount whatever tires I get for it until the car gets sold.
