Pod problems - saga continues
Discussion
OK, story so far......completely stripped RHS POD and motor, checked all connections, checked fuse and relays, confirmed earth OK. Finally got the motor to operate.
My problem is that when I turn the lights on the left pod raises (as normal) and the right pod doesn't move. When I switch lights off the left pod goes down and the right pod pops back up!!!!!
Haing stripped everything and re-built there is something not quite right - any ideas (are the LHS and RHS relays the same) or is the wiring mixed up?
Any suggestions would be appreciated.

when you stripped the motor you have put the main drive gear/spindle in 180 degrees out ( the bit that the lifting linkage drives off), the white nylon gear wheel has little cams on it that lift the contacts up to raise and lower the light pod, all you have to do is strip it again and turn this round 180 degrees, i did the same thing when i stripped mine, a bit of a ball ache but not too much trouble.
Just looking at the sketches I have from my old Tasmin.... the lifting arm will be pointing in the direction of the endfloat adjustment screw on the motor gearbox. On the side of the gearbox casting there are two marks, for 0 degrees and 90 degrees; the arm hould be pointing at 0 when the pod is retracted. From the symptoms you describe it sounds like the arm is in the right position, but the gear is 180 deg out. It is always possible there's some other problem, though. I can email you these drawings if it helps....
