Tasmin press car chassis number
Discussion
The original factory demonstrator FHC was chassis number 10, it's been owned by a couple of people on here over the years but I've lost track of it now. Its reg. was something like A796 HNE (it sat around the factory being robbed of bits so it wasn't sold off and registered until 1984).
ETA: I was almost right - A976 HNE.

Just how many "Press cars" were there???....I helped a chap recently with chassis No.1 which was built in 1979 and was the factory car used by the sales team..Peter Wheeler drove it and so did most of the dealers..It was used as a promotional vehicle and demonstrator.
Im hoping he will be coming to the fest...The very first Tasmin...Of course there is the usual .."Its not original" brigade...It has later wheels which are being replaced with the originals..The wheel barrow handle exhausts have been removed..And it has been fitted with a radiator in the nosecone..Horrendous..
Oh and it also has protruding rear screen hinges which were scorned as non-original too..My betting is that they are original.
I did some digging and found what the original colour and interior trim was so that our friend can put it back to the original colours...I think the rad is staying which is a good call in my eyes...The granny rad was shyte!...
Glad its surfaced as when me and Mr Steele owned No.2 we looked for No.1 and was told it got written off so believed No.2 to be the oldest surviving Wedge..Well i guess it blows No.2 out the water now...Ziga

I’m now the proud owner of chassis 10. She’s back on the road and getting the love she deserves. Was in a right state when I got it…
Nice one I bought chassis 36 (also fire engine red) in 1995/6 and paid just over £2000 for it then - and it too was rough, even though it was still a teenager. There's been a rumour ever since that 'wedge prices are about to shoot up' but I'm still waiting.
I may have some pics of your car from the early 2000s when Graham W (who posted further up and used to own it) lived near me, we used to get a few cars together for runs out. Last I heard he'd emigrated to the Philippines.

I just stumbled onto this post and I thought it to be appropriate to mention that I own car #3. Its the LHD motorshow car that was sold new by TVRNA in Toronto. After years of a slow restoration by me, John and Doug at TVR North America have finished the car for me and it is ready for pick up. The car was originally gold (now red) and will hopefully get some use this summer.
