400 SE Roof & Door Seals ? Original or MGF
Discussion
I read that new door and roof seals from an MGF can be fitted to a wedge 400 SE
1. Are they better than the original wedge seals
2. What do they cost
3. Are they a direct replacement and easy to fit
4. Can you get the original seals at a reasonable cost anywhere else apart from the factory

Steves right, I'm the chap who did this and I used a scrapyard seal, (cost 5 quid) I wouldn't reccommend buying a new Rover one as they're probably 80-100 quidish and the improvement doesn't justify that kind of outlay. But if you do, then you'll have to cut the seal to get roof on as they are very thick and need trimming in the corners to get the panel to sit flat. Also although you can strech the seal to fit across the windscreeen header rail it works better if you cut it in the middle and glue in a section of the old seal. Benefits are a proper moulded corner which fills the gap between glass and A post better so less noise and a gutter channel built into it to allow water to drain off better.
