It's just body filler added to a 350i shell. If you look under a 390SE with its sills off you can see the join. If you consider that all the bits that make a 390SE different to a 350i are detachable apart from the wheelarches, TVR were hardly likely to have a one-off mould created, they just ponged it up before painting. The amount of front arch flare is actually slightly different between the two sides of my car 

Glad to see my photos of the green 390SE are still proving interesting, and amusement! The only time I ever saw it was here at Oulton Park in August 1989 for the Tuscan Challenge, it belonged to a guy called Barry Zee who was running a car for Steve Cole in the series. I have a note with the photo saying that the rear tyres were 345 section, they look like standard Revolution alloys with mega wide rims. It would have looked a lot better if the front wasn't totally standard!
