On the subject of in car entertainment, has anyone any experience with CD players and radio reception. I cannot pick up MW at all I am assuming this is to do with Fibreglass bodied cars. Help.
I also have a CD auto changer. You've guessed it jumps more than the wife does when I broadside at roundabouts. I have heard its possible to get the heads tightened to prevent this. Has anyone done this before?

I've got one of those in the boot apparently it's a six stack, don't know what it sounds like or whether it jumps as I've never switched it on

The CD, mount it in a different location? Where is it now? I am assuming that it makes a difference, mine is behind (almost) the rear passenger light cluster.
I wouldn't have thought fibre glass affects MW. Your tranny works in the house surrounded by brick/concrete/mud/twigs or whatever your house is made of. Isn't the aerial for MW a ferrite core? maybe its a bit dis or cracked?
Also looking through my old fogie LP (thats turntables, beards and round black plastic disks to yung un's), ows about out of the blue by ELO. Nearly 80's

quote:
Hey Morg you're only saying that 'cause you're an old fogie ! Not like us yung-uns. 80's were great. ZZ Top and Ultravox .... Yeah baby !!
p.s. Don't hit me next time we meet 'cause I cry easy !
Nick ( Very Yellow 400 se )
Around here in Wales there is an easy way to get thumped.
In the bar.
"Are you looking at my pint?"
Get out, "No, looking at your girlfriend"
If you answer "pint" thumping starts.
Edjimicated lot I think

Also Def Leppard.
PS, I have trouble getting into boiled eggs.

Hmmm... as an old fogie, still in possession of a 'gramophone' and some 'woofers and tweeters', I can offer the following:-
With or without you -U2
Dead Ringer and Took the words out of my mouth-Meatloaf
Losing my religion -REM (maybe the 90s though but!?)
Road to hell -Chris Rea
Mr Blue Sky -ELO
Living on a prayer -Bon Jovi
CD changer - yup, mine jumps more than an ex-wife. Either of them in fact.
Tried making a foam-padded platform for it, but still does it. Worse when the roof panel is in the boot, and sometimes worse on pirate...er, I mean copied....er, umm.... those other CDs.
Solution is probably to spend your wad (oo-er) on a funky new one with digital memory. Let us, however, not enter the debate of analogue versus digital sound quality, and whether a Pink Triangle is better than a Planar 3.... :-p
