Front Indicator Light for 450SE?
Discussion
Hello:
Today, while pushing the car back into the garage (don't ask), I pressed my knee against the driver's side front indicator lamp and punched a whole clear throught the yellow/portion of the indicator. These things seem really thin, and I'm surprised that a rock hasn't broken it before now.
I noticed that 'Signalvision' was printed on the lens. However, the passenger side indicator had 'Gemco' printed on it instead. Which is the original, and where can I get a replacement? Also, I live in Germany, so maybe a phone number of someplace/somebody who can ship it to me.
Thank you
Shawn Ford

A new-old-stock Peugeot part was easy to find, but what is the composite which holds it in? It looks like a silicone adhesive, but not as shiny with a bit more grit. Have I gone blind, or am I looking at this wrong? I was going to remove it this weekend, but want to ensure that the compound used seal/hold it in place is correct.
Thanks

Out of interest where did you get the lens from.
The reason i ask is that i'm seriously considering upgrading the front indicators on my 390 series two from the recessed renault indicators to the 400 style.
I wanted to know if tvr used the whole assembly(i.e. the bulb holders from the peugeot as well), or as i think i can fathom from what's been said already, did they use a generic bulb holder with the Peugeot lens covering them.
If at all possible shawn, could you take a quick photo while you've got the lens out?
Cheers

Front turn signals for 400SE/450SE and maybe 390SE do indeed come from the 1980's Peugeot 505. Was able to quickly get the part here in Germany. A new old stock signal was 44 Euros including VAT (about 28 quid UK). There are 2 kinds of turn signal used on the 505 a pre-1986 and a post 1986. I think the differences are very slight, if any, but I opted for the post 1986 item, since the 450SE wasn't around 'til '89. The part was an exact match (thanks in part to the microfilm). The part came with everything including bulb. This weekend, I will take the old one out through headlamp pod. TVR definitely used the whole aparatus, not just the lens, because there are absolutely no screws in this thing; clear part of lense is fused to the bulb housing. It really looks like a shoddy part. With a little help from the Wedge Bible, I'll keep you posted on how it turns out.
Cheers
