350i radiator replacement
Discussion
The rad in my 350 is non standard fitted before i bought it 2 years ago it works fine, but tends to struggle on hot days, as i think it is off a Ford Sierra TD.. Any body know what rad TVR used for the V8 wedges?, (based on range rover??) if anyone has the dimensions i would like to get a high flow one made, or get hold of an old proper one to have recored.
The Rad fitted standard is a Rover SD1 with modified inlet and outlet pipes, I replaced mine with a Rad from Essex Radiators of Danbury, using a three row core it runs a lot cooler as I have a V8 Devlopments 460i engine my 350i. They will rebuild yours with more cooling rows if required, hope this helps.
Steve, I am definitely interested in an Ally radiator (although my existing one is "adequate") but how are the fan(s) attached?? I've still got the original single cowled fan on mine bolted directly to the rad. Would an ally radiator be strong enough to strap such a heavy fan to? Similar question re the oil cooler bolted to the bottom front O/S of the rad?
Where are you getting your new one made??
Where are you getting your new one made??

You can't strap anything to the rad in reality as the extra weight will cause the rad to move and weaken. I have seperate brackets for the twin fans and moved the oil cooler into the headlamp pod space.
