I visited a young lady there a few years ago and spent a few days,

It seemed like a nice place, can't comment on the pubs tho, didn't make it out due to being locked in the bedroom! laugh

Llandudno is a beautiful place. What sort of things are looking for to do?

It's a relatively quiet traditional seaside resort, one of the finest in the country, set in some of the most stunning scenery in the country, with some of the finest roads nearby.

Don't expect it to be wild night out, it's not Blackpool or Brighton et al.

If its scenery, walks, narrow gauge railways, national trust properties and castles you're after, you're spoilt for choice. The added bonus is that with a little planning you'll be able to travel between them on some of the finest driving roads around (llanberis pass, around capil curig, evo triangle to name but three).

Afraid don't know too much about the pubs, we like the Albert (a good family run pub, with good food and cask ales).

Have a good trip.

Regards, Neil

I go to Llandudno (Welshist pronunciation: Clan-did-no) on a fairly regular basis for work. Seems to be a town where a pre-condition of residency is the requirement to be at least 65.

It's a decent enough place, fairly clean. Wetherspoons (The Palladium) on Gloddaeth St will probably be one of the places you call at, typical Wetherspoons, reasonable food and beer. Then work your way along Mostyn St (the main shopping street) where there are plenty of pubs. The front on North Shore (where the pier is) is wall to wall hotels. West Shore is very quiet.

I couldn't remember any clubs in Llandudno, so I googled it - there appears to be one club, in the Washington Hotel on North Shore. I'm sure there might be another one at the northern end of Mostyn St but I honestly cannot remember.

There are also lots of old people in Llandudno. Have I mentioned this?

Why don't you consider Bangor? Being a student town there are more pubs bars and clubs and they'll probably be cheaper too. Haven't been out in Bangor for around 5 years though so what it's like these days is anyone's guess.

How about the "Cottage Loaf" for proper beer then on to "The Boulevard" (Is that the club you were thinking of Scott?).I'm advised it's still "the one" after all these years.HTH.Enjoy.

cheers for the replies..im in a group of 50 people so hotels all booked anyhow with entertainment provided in the evenings...as i'm approaching 40 a nightclub is a thing of the past,so pubs more my scene.

I believe we have an excursion to snowdon sorted..unfortunately the cars staying at home..just a coach for the journey.

I can remember going to Llandudno some years ago to stay with a mate who lived there at the time who celebrated his 18th birthday.

As far as I can remember we went to a local pub near where he & his familly lived it was called "The Snowdonia". It had a very nice familly atmosphere to it.
I played my mate's sister at pool, we were both useless at it which resulted in being the pub's longest ever game! tongue out

A lot of the residents of Llandudno are either Manc or Scouse immigrants, I don't think there're many locals are bred & born there unless they're over 60.

Llandudno is very nice with a nice sea-front promenade. It also has some wonderful roads nearby.

EVO mags fave Snowdonia watering hole is nearby - The Groes Inn, I believe.

Wales oldest pub. Highly recommended!
