Afternoon,

I've managed to get my hands on a Caterham for the weekend so I want take it somewhere I can really have some fun. Was thinking of staying @ a B&B in Bala (or similar) Saturday night then up for some fun driving & photography on Sunday.... Any suggestions on cheap places to stay, is Bala a good base, & recommended good roads to drive.... and of course any fellow PHer's fancy meeting up for some driving fun.

cheers,
Steve

nothing wrong with bala for a base to stay. plenty of b&b's there. betws y coed is a popular base also - again, a few b&b's around and a couple of decent pubs too. the royal oak seems to be popular...

bit more luxury, you could stay in the ramada in wrexham and get up early and head on out. its a 30min drive to "the triangle" along some good roads...

Hi there, Bala isn't to bad (although only riden through), but would think you'd be able to stay anywhere along the A5, if it were me I'd be staying down Bangor / Menai bridge area then head back east taking in Llanberis, Betws Y Coed, Evo Triangle and the like. Nice scenery and roads.

Thanks guys, having looked again there's a fair selection of cheap but decent looking B&B's in Betws-y-Coed which would be ideal: somewhere right on the route, and I can wander up town on Saturday for a quiet pint or two. So thats more than likely what I'll be doing!

Only done 40miles or so in the Caterham so far, but its bloody good fun - can't wait to drive it on the proper roads you have over there!!
