I'm looking at walking up Snowdon when/if the weather improves (I know it's never predictable in Snowdonia!) so I would like some local advice on the best route at this time of year. The ideal would be a quiet one which is fairly quick but not too hard going.

Thanks

Try this for details of routes: http://www.hightrek.co.uk/snowdonia/snowdon.htm

Llanberis is the easiest (my wife did this at 5 months pregnant). There's various links to weather and also a summit webcam around the net so you can check before you go. Hope it's of use! GR

Thanks for that. I think we'll try the Watkin as it's quieter.

If you are going at the weekend even the Watkin path is not quieter best time to go very early morning 5am to 6am on any route the shortest route is from Pen y Pass

Here's another vote for the Watkin Path. It has a lovely easy start to get you warmed up, great views and some beautiful water falls. It's my favourite route up, but I often turn left just after Gladstone Rock and head up to the South Ridge/Rhyd Ddu path. That is a very quiet route and that, combined with the start of the Watkin is the most beautiful way up in my opinion.

Have a nice time anyway thumbup

Sounds great! I'll give that a go, it will be a few weeks now before we get over there.
