Of all the regional PH forums, North Wales is by far the least active & I don't understand why - especially when considering the fact we have some of the best driving/riding roads in the UK.

Any clues?

I can only assume that everyone is thrashing about on our wonderful roads instead of sitting in front of the pc.
Or
Everyone is worried about language issues. As this is a North Wales forum, do i post in Welsh, English, or both?

it is a very quiet part of the forum!

the more people on here though, the less on the roads smile

have to admit to living in an absolute cracking location now ive moved - prob 15mins from the nant y garth pass now which offers ample relief to any moments of boredom at the weekend

Hello All,

It is very quiet here, when people do try and organise anything the trick is trying to get a weekend when everyone is free.

The runs John organises are always good - a full day, good lunch, good company and the potential to hone your accident avoidance skills when confronted with out of control sheep dogs (that's why I prefer Lotus to TVR!)

I always check the NW forum, but I'm not the most prolific poster 300 in 6 years!

Regards, Neil

North Wales has the Interweb now? Damn, I still read PH by fax!

This is a question I have often wondered. Because of the lack of activity here, I only check about once a week. I assume a lot of people do the same, which only compounds the issue.

So are you suggesting that all the meets being organised & taking place everywhere else in the UK, are in no way instigated by discussions on forums such as this?

We are the only area without any plausable representation, but then again, who would want to organise runs/meets in N.Wales? - when as you pointed out, nobody is listening.

I read plenty of threads involving clubs/individuals from other parts of the UK, visiting here & meeting up for a weekend of fun.......sadly & to my embarassment, never about our own local runs/meets etc.

Oh there's always plenty of performance car related meetings, pub meets, drive outs, photoshoots and show realted activities....they just don't carry the "Pistonheads" title, more like local car clubs or maybe the RSOC for example. The only Pistonheads meeting I've ever attended was in Horseshoe Pass, and that's a good 70 miles away from me. Most people view Pistonheads as the TVR/Porsche/Ferrari club and assume their motor isn't worthy enough to be seen in the likes of those. But if anyone is willing to arrange anything local, I'd be happy enough to join in and drag along quite a few performance cars. Would be a nice change from having to drive around the country throughout the year with other shows and track days etc.

being a local, I would like to be involved in organising a local 'tour'...
I just have to move house and fit the new engine first, give me a month or so, see what I can muster.....

There's no reason not to have a regular PH meet North Wales. We've been doing one in the North West forum for a few years now. One person started off by inviting some PHers to join a monthly Westfield meet - and it's evolved from there.
We have a wide mix of cars each month - this was last month's list:
1: Chris 'ck86' - Lotus Elite V8 (+1, maybe)
z: planetdave - El Porko.
three: Jaik - Emmartoo
IV: buggalugs - e30 Slowmobile
5: Carrera2s i caught an Atom alive! Atom 300
6: MarkTT +1 TT V6 (Weather and work permitting)
sieben) 997GT3 - Mk4 Golf GTI 150 (new addition!)
Acht: GT 1 (Mr GT 1 attending but has a broken wrist, so can't play)
12-3: Sanguinary - MR2 Mk1.5 (MK2 if it rains...)
Lords A-leaping : Scottie - 200sx
We also had an Integra, my S2000, cappucino, 355, Elise biggrin

We do a run each month - only about 40mins to an hour and then all have a good natter and look at the cars.

It only takes one person to start it off. If you arrange something for a weekend and post a link to the local forums like North West, you'll probably get a few more cars to show up biggrin
