I have a Honda S2000 Meet arranged for April so if you have one you're welcome. I am willing to organise a mixed vehicle Meet and drive for North Wales but would hope for more support than last time!
Any dates suggested??
unfortunately being but a wee baby i cant afford an S2000. So i have a golf (soon to be MR2 though i hope)Any dates suggested??
I would be interested in a mixed vehicle meet, and would be more than happy to help organise it. Given my lack of driving experience i dont know my roads, so i wouldnt be able to help with the route, but i would be able to help get a head count etc

we should organise a 'plain as you like' car meet, that way even me with my VW golf could come along
snorkle, as you said you know the roads, if you could plan a fairly decent 130-150mile route, with a stop off for some lunch, and make sure it goes past petrol stations, just incase.
I'll help arrange a date, and get a head count.
what do we say? would people be interested in a drive for drivings sake, and not just a 'lets show off how good our cars are'

I think it might need a bit more notice to get enough interest to make it worthwhile...
Might also be an idea to get the route sent out only to those deffo interested, a couple of days before. Thom, I would suggest going for a bit of a recce yourself at the weekend if you are unable to get any interest for a run out (i, unfortunately, cant make sunday). You cant really go wrong with any of the roads, but if you are starting out by llandegla, the following would be worth considering:
A525 > A5104 > A5 west > B4501 > A543 > A5 east > B5105 > A525 from ruthin back to llandegla and along the nant y garth pass
It would be useful for you to get a feel for the roads before heading out with a group, for you own enjoyment more than anything else. There are some fantastic views to be savoured, especially along the A543, and you could even stop for a bit of lunch by the fantastic visitors centre by llyn brenig.
I am more than happy to organise something, however I think Johnear wont mind me saying that anyone is welcome on his tours, and there is certainly no minimum bhp requirement to your car! The key is enjoyment, and going at a pace that you are comfortable with - this pace you will know much better if you go for a wonder yourself first!
We are blessed with some fantastic roads around here, but dips, bumps, cambers, crests, sheep, people and plod all need careful consideration!

I'd be game for a run but as mentioned a few weeks notice would be handy...Evo is good although never done it in a car..only on the bike (mate in his car infront of me seemed to be haivng more fun), have the route on a map somewhere if anine would like it mailing over! Even if people didn't fancy the run I think the go-karting idea would be nice on its own merits, there are a few places in N Wales (if peeps don't know - Cerig, Caernarfon & Bodedern to name a few)
I can't do Sundays either due to family commitments. Karting is always a good way to beak up or end the day and any silliness can be saved for the track rather than vented on the roads. If a run is planned, don't post the route up here, but email it out to those wanting to come, it helps reduce unwanted attention during the day!
Hi Guys,
I am think of running this years first tour for mixed vehicles in late March (Saturday) and then another tour in April (maybe a 2 day event with karting and a night over in Abersoch).
We usually start out towards Shrewsbury with various meets on route meet up points. It starts at Shrewsbury as there often is not enough interest from NW so have to call on the West Midland guys to make up numbers. We stop for lunch near Portmadog ( was considering stopping at the Purple Moose Micro Brewery this time) before heading for the Evo.
I'll post details of the March tour in the next week or so. Your all welcome to join.
Sorry to be a bit cautious but I don't discuss the route before hand and send it out 2 days before so as not to attract the wrong attention. We drive with consideration and care but it's easy to see how loud cars travelling through a village might attract complaints.
Having said that when ever we stop, kids suddenly in the most remote villages in with Camera phones!

Sounds like a nice little run out! One problem with the NW peeps like myself is the start point, I live on the west coast so its a decent trek up that way but Porthmadog would be easily accessable, hopefully (if I'm not out biking) would be able to join the run and meet a few other PH'ers I am think of running this years first tour for mixed vehicles in late March (Saturday) and then another tour in April (maybe a 2 day event with karting and a night over in Abersoch).
