Good Places to eat in Bala

Hi all,

I'm coming up to drive around north wales and the the triangle next month with a few others, part of my route includes stopping in Bala for lunch.

Can anyone recommend me some good places to eat

Seriously, there is a great pub called the Ty Mawr just outside Corwen, but I don't know if it's reopenned. It's a timber framed pub that was renovated at great cost a few years ago. Apparently it's the oldest in Wales.

Don't know what it is called but the place on the corner of the A494 and where the A4212 crosses. Car Park at rear on road towards Bala lake Railway.

Nope the Ty Mawr is still closed.

There is a good food pub in Llanelidan called The Leyland Arms, do cask ale to.

Would have expected the Ty Mawr to be running by now. I know Ed the ex landlord has now moved over to Bodidris Hall.

So would everyone, Chris passes this twice a day and it's still dead as a doornail. Shame as they'd done all the wood walling around the front.

He was told about a place in Llandderfel today but can't remember the name of it, got a good reputation for food though.

I am from the area and would say that go to the picture house in ruthin.
The place is an old cinemar has been open a few months and the food is great..

there is an AMAZING deli in Bala, great home made food and a really interesting interior. the owners are nice people too. look for an A board on the main road, it's tucked away down a side street.
