I am heading for north Wales in a weeks time for a holday.
I would like to do a bit of Salmon or sea trout fishing localy and a look around with the wife and kid.

Any advice of places to see and places to avoid etc will be greatly recieved.

I will be staying in near Porthmadog at the Haven holiday park.

Harlech has a nice castle, bit of an uphill trek but survivable! The beaches along the coast from Harlech down to Barmouth are all nice.

Other than that - take a trip inland and go to Betws-y-Coed? Very pretty part of the world - Swallow Falls are good for a few photos. smile

ETA: or if you fancy heading to the north coast instead, Conwy Castle is good for a day out.

Hey there,

Rite then,

Betws Y Coed is not far from Porth, nice bit of scenery and good walks and a little train thing for the kids

Theres a place called Glasfryn Park, again not too far, has bowling, quad biking and go-karting plus some other bits I may not be aware of (suits both adults and kids)

Abersoch isn't that far...good beach day out although not much else (if you get lucky with some sun)

As for fishing I'm not too sure, would suggest asking at the reception in the park, they may be of assistance

Anything else give us a shout

Rich
