Hi,
I'm a refugee from over on the HSV/Monaro forum and I've only just decided to look at the rest of the site to see what there is and suprisingly I found this place.
Anyway, what I would like to ask is, is there any room on your little meets for a poor, lonely Monaro CV8? I live on the North Wales coast so it would be nice to actually meet up with other owners and see their cars.
I have only seen one other Monaro on the North Wales roads since I bought mine last September, so I guess I might be the only Monaro to turn up at these meets?
Thanks
Paul

Yes, that's my Devil Yellow VZ CV8. It's a colour you either love or loathe...
Nearly got a Silver one, but it looked a bit too average for my taste. The black one I've seen is an 04 CV8. I think it's now got private plates?
Your car looks familiar, it's not the one I've seen parked at the bottom of Church Road is it? (Isn't this a small world..)

yeah thats me. i go along to most of the meets, and im sure you would be more than welcome. theres usualy a post a week or so before each one from simon cotton, also from rhos.looks like you missed one of the best ones so far last week, not sure where next months will be yet, but they are usually on the first sunday of the month. keep an eye on here.
Thanks. I have seen the pics and the cars looked stunning against the snow. Funnily enough I nearly went to Llangollen last Sunday just for quiet drive, but decided to go from just out of St. Asaph down through Bodfari and back onto the A55. Very nice road.
Had I seen this section earlier (found it on Monday!) I'd have come along. I just wasn't sure if some people here would class the Monaro as a sports car or not.

hi paul,
yes its a very small world, as Mark mentioned, I'm also in Rhos, tucked away on the other side of Richard ONeale Conservatories (off colwyn crescent)
Anyway, most of the meets are posted in this forum. I also email everyone, just for those who are not regular users of PH, if you wanted to be added to the mailing list please email at this address. simon[at)viewcreative[dot}co[dot]uk
as you can see from the pics from most of the threads, there is a real mixture of cars - if your passionate about cars then that will do. We do try and keep the cars high quality.
details of the next meet will be posted soon.

Thanks Simon, I do keep an eye on here but I'll probably sign to your mailing list.
My Monaro CV8 is no longer stock as it's running about 405bhp as opposed to the 354bhp (ECU remap, Modified CAI and larger Stainless Dual exit exhausts)the VXR is standard at 384bhp and I haven't finished yet (hopefully a new AP larger caliper/brake set up, HSV 19" alloys and a new set of headers with cat by pass) I'm certainly not in the boyracers leaugue so no tacky bit 'n' pieces from Half*rds will be adorning the car for meets or anywhere else for that matter.
The only exterior alterations are the tail lights, these are the HSV GTO/CV8-R/VXR units (Matt black with Chrome inserts imported direct from Oz because my local VX dealer said that VX wouldn't sell them to me) Bit daft as I had just spent over 30k with them... Still they were cheaper than VX were charging.
Kezz, seen your Skyline about. Lovely car with a truly gorgeous sounding engine/exhaust note. It was a toss up with a Skyline or this. The Monaro won on the basis that it is just so big and crude and it is actually nice to be able to work on this as opposed to the hi tech jap and euro machinery where even changing a spark plug can take over an hour after removing all the ancillary pipes and wires!
Still, I look forward to being humbled by all your cars at the meets.
Cheers
