Do you guys meet up and run the evo triangle much?
There's been a few accidents there this year (Some sadly fatal) and locals are rightly not happy. Also has attracted a lot of Police interest around the whole area. No problem for a leisurely drive but not for "spirited driving". In any case there are much better roads very nearby I been twice this year both times luckily had good weather, only one sighting of the boys in blue and it was a motorbike cop not sticking to the speed limit himself!
loads of good roads around there unfortunately I don't know the names of them I only know them from sight. its always worth going there when the weather is good. I come from warrington and come off at Mold then through Ruthin to the triangle couple of good roads that way.

The A5 is fun. Go down to Wrexham and carry on towards Oswestry and turn off near Chirk (take the A5 Langollen road) and just follow that road through Trevor towards Langollen. Valleys on either side and a mental road when you get past Corwen. At this point you can turn right and go up to the horseshoe pass with its cafe or carry on all the way past the Rhug Estate to Conwy enjoying the excellent roads and scenery! Don't need to go near the ET to have fun in wales. I live near Mold and I visit grandfather in Rhyl so on a sunny day instead of bombing down the A55 at 70mph I will do the above and then go down the A55 north to Rhyl instead.
Also Rhug estate sells beefburger patties and they are seriously yum.
Be cautious for cyclists around Corwen, never seen any police, speed traps (mobile or fixed).
I imagine in the summer it can be congested and full of caravans though.

I was there Monday, just wanted to drive around it leisurely on our way to Llandudno. Weather wasn't great and it was okay at legal speeds. I did have a camera van pass me in the opposite direction at the start of the east side and also an Audi Estate police car who was not hanging around.
Tbh wasn't that impressed with it, bumpy and narrow on west side. Much nicer roads around the area to enjoy, especially the scenary.
Some of the driving I witnessed on our little holiday was shocking mind, bikers on wrong side of road whether coming towards me or in front of me and people overtaking on bends to name a few.
