Alloy wheel refurb/painting

Morning folks,
One of the boys in my work has just asked me about possibly painting the wheels on his car.
At the moment, he's got himself a Carrera 4S, and is currently looking into another flavour of 911 (not 100% on which, he's just looking at everything right now).
He's set his heart on a yellow or (guards) red one, and thinks they'd look pretty good with black wheels on.
Now, the only place I really know of is down near Pretwick Airport where my mate got the alloys for his Astra done (can't remember their name off the top of my head...).
Anyone got any recommendations?
He's just looking for (rough) prices at the moment so he can think about what he's wanting to do, but I thought I'd stick up a post and see where you guys would recommend he looks.
And, one final point.
He's also raised the question of "What if I need to use the car while they're doing my wheels?"..
I know some places (mostly refurb places) have spare sets of alloys they can give you in the meantime while they're working on yours - but I'm not sure how many places would actually have a spare set of wheels to fit a C4S lying around the shop ...

dude we use powdertec in kinning park under the kingston bridge, they have a sameday service so going shopping,etc back at 5pm collect the car job done, they will strip and rebuilt and balance. Got them to do a set of 20" bentley gt speed wehels for us in black chrome amazing finish ask for micheal
The first question is to powder coat or paint. PC will give a more robust but poorer quality finish than having them sprayed by a bodyshop also spray painting gives an enormous range of colour choice.
Personally I have always used PC for longevity.
I have more than one set of wheels for all my cars except the 911 so when I wanted to redo the finish I was attracted by the same day service by Powdertec rather than taking the spare wheels to Gordon Hazelton as I had always done before.
Within a 1/2 mile of taking the car back from Powdertec the car was shocking! Outrageous vibration through the wheel at 50 mph so bad I dare not go any faster.
Balancing I thought, so I had the wheels rebalanced at Gordons. The problem was still there so wheels back off. At this point we noticed that a generous amount of rough PC had been applied to the back face plate of the wheel, this is a real no no on a 911 because of the way the wheel sits on the hub splines. About an hour of machining later the PC had been removed and the wheels balanced again.
Problem solved....so if you are having somewhere PC wheels on a car that is known to be sensitive to hub mounting (Porsche and Ferrari amongst others) the make sure your PC firm know what they are doing!!

Also knightofni - The Wheel Specialist isn't too far from where we work (we're down in College Milton on the other side of E/K) - but he lives out towards the airport somewhere...
Do they offer spare wheels so he can still use the car in the meantime?

Personally I'd avoid a one day service, it takes quite a bit of time to blast clean prepare and paint wheels.
No point in rushing them as it'll just mean that corners could be cut.
Doesn't matter where you go inspect the finish of the wheels before they are refitted to the car, if you're not happy get them to fix them and dont just accept it then grumble about a poor finish on the web

Looking for recent recommendation in the Glasgow/West of Scotland area?
(Job is fairly simple, refurb 4 x 18" wheels and possibly a colour change. Probably powdercoat.)
Had a quote from at £336 from thewheelspecialist.co.uk which seemed a bit pricey based on jobs I've had done int he past. Maybe just inflation?
