Will shortly need two front tyres for the freelander, so have been looking around for replacements.

Kwikfit want £212 per tyre for 225/55/17 Michelin Synchrone. I'm having a sense of humour failure at that price!

Anyone know of places where i could get them cheaper?

May get all 4 done as the back 2 are kumho's and the spare is a michelin so unsure if its wise to be running with different tread patterns on the car.

Cheers, Alan

If you want Michelins and can track down someone with a Costco card they're usually cheapest for them.

Failing that I've heard good reviews (from my dad) of Performance Tyres in Anniesland.

I believe Kwik Fit do a price match so you could phone around and get prices then go to Kwik Fit armed with them if they're convenient for fitting?

Kwik fit may price match though

Another vote for Performance Tyres. I've used them for years and always found them hard to beat.

best tyre place by miles is MJM tyre services in orbiston street motherwell. I used coopers for 25 years and then went to these guys. Most importantly they REALY know how to fit tyres. Most people wont touch the split rims on my Passat W8. these guys used to do agency for blackcircle but got all the diff jobs to do so just gave up.
Price wise found them hard to beat. Bought about 12 or more tyres so far. Excellent service and really nice people too

Get a price from a Kwik Fit / Farmers / National / Budget... take off 25% and phone another asking to beat that price, phone another place, take 10% of previous quote and so on.

Used this tactic to secure two GT Champiros on the back of my old Mondeo for £80 cash a couple of years back.

Another option is to put the spare on the car and just buy one tyre, leaving you a just legal spare.

I've done this last time I needed tyres as lets face it, if you get a flat you need to buy a new tyre most of the time anyway...
