Hi,

Is there anywhere in the Aberdeen area you can do a course or learn cheaply how to weld? Fancy a project but whilst spannering is one thing, welding floors and sills is another! Something I have always wanted to do but nowhere seems to offer such a thing?

Any ideas?

Cheers,
Mark

Get hold of a welder and give it a try!

I have just been doing some welding with my stepdad on his kitcar. Neither of us had really welded before so after a few weeks of practise we were getting rather good ( still crap compared to the pro's though)

Read the net for clues and tips, speak to friends who weld, you will soon get the hang of it and have a general idea of what you should be doing!

So before spending money on courses get out there and try it, you will be surprised how easy it comes.

Yep, as above. Welders are reasonably cheap, and give it a go , migs definitely easier than stick, make sure metals as clean as you can get it and just experiment. If going for mig get a decent sized bottle of cougar or the like from air products and not the wee disposables as that will cost a fortune.

Are they not part of Aberdeen College though?

Not sure about Clinterty but Craibstone is Scottish Agricultural College (SAC)
