Planning a few days away in May and fancied going to kyle of Lochalsh. Can anybody recommend a nice clean hotel in the area....or any alternatives on the west coast?

Cheers,
Graeme

It's been a while, but the Kyle hotel was OK. Nothing fancy, but ok room and good breakfast.

Google "Innes-Marie" self cater chalets, up in Poolewe, Not the most stylish of places (the chalets, not Poolewe) but very clean.
G/F and I have just come back from 5 days there, Booked through Hoseasons. £101.00..all in, ok, it was a special offer... the place sleeps 6
Terrific roads up there, Pub just 200 yds down the road as well..Get up there before the Midgies wake up

Kyles been done up by all accounts. I stayed in it a couple of times in the past and it was ok. Mate stayed in it the other week and it's a bit more upmarket. No more "crusty corner" as the public bar was known.

There are much nicer places to stay than Kyle - Dornie, Plockton, Lochcarron or over to Sleat/South Skye all worth a punt, or further north to Applecross/Torridon.

Thanks for the responses. I've widened my search area and looking for somewhere that's got a good menu.

Cheers,
Graeme
