Do we have Scottish meets??
Discussion
Usually plenty of meets and the like, a lot of scottish PHers are on www.scottishsupercars.com as well which organises hoons and meets as well. I'm banned, but tell them all i said hello anyway

I suppose you have to have a decent car to join? scotty_d said:
It says "Sorry! This site is by invite only" so how do you get an invite?
Difficult to answer but, lets just say when you have been around this forum a while and peeps recognise a fellow petrolhead in the true sense then the invitation will come, not everybody on that forum owns a 'supercar' Scottish supercars was formed because it was perceived that there were people who thought that some of the outing's that were being organised were unofficial road races. Not true! So there was a move away, simple as that. If your like minded then your patience will be rewarded, trust me.G

Just wondering cause i shall be a passenger in HH, and shall be bringing my lovely amateur photography skills with me.

Why advertise the highland hoon on PH then post the details on another forum! Pisch Patter that!
I understand not wanting refraf along but then again its completely alienated most folk!
I think it was to keep certain type of Boy racers from going, nothing to do with the car that you are driving or a snob factor, we are all petrolheads here but there is a group of us that are a law onto themselves when it comes to the law - I know as i was one of them a long time ago when i had my Fiesta RS Turbo I understand not wanting refraf along but then again its completely alienated most folk!
I went on Hoon last year it was full of a great bunch of people that made me feel very welcome, a very well organised and knowegable group. Websites also good.
I could tell you how to join but i would then have to kill you

I tend to agree. I find it a little strange to ask about run outs on PH and then get redirected to another forum. If a hoon is being organised on PH then it should stay on PH. As for being or meeting riff-raff* then I couldn't care less; I'd rather meet a keen petrolhead in an Opel Kadett than a showoff in a Challenge Stradale**....I understand not wanting refraf along but then again its completely alienated most folk!
- and in all the years I've been on PH I've never met someone on here that I wouldn't meet again.
- Just an example and not meant to cause offence to any CS owners. Apart from the black one on the old A77 on Sunday... where did you go?

FWIW I'm relatively new to PH, haven't been able to attend any meets yet (hope to get to the drinks next week though), have a pretty ordinary old car (albeit with nearly 300bhp) and I feel in no way alienated at all.
I think I can understand the logic behind the way the HH has been organised and why some discussion is better held behind closed doors.

I see no logic to it at all... Limit the numbers, draw up a disclaimer sayin if you drive like a dick and crash your liable. etc. Don't post on a forum that nobody can view and then promote it via another source... I'm a Petrolhead through and through.
VERY Bizarre.
Ach you won't want to be on there then. Full of bizarre folks it seems VERY Bizarre.
I am new on that site and it has been explained why the thread has been removed. I believe the folks on there are welcome to pass on info to friends who would fancy joining up. Its blocked to keep kids and law out as far as I can see. I for one know I would be less impressed if a 17yr old with LIMITED driving experience rattled up the arse of my motor.
Have you been on any of those runs they hold?
Enough runs are organised on PH like the oban run then 2 weeks ago the tunnel run, and the tunnel run last year,
if you care about being invited on major events like the HH, then show up to these, get known and you'll get an invite.
It DOES NOT MATTER what car you have, i had a polo and my motorbike when i joined, i just showed on the oban run, i'm a petrol head and i'm not a risk to the other drivers on the run. ( i use the bike for the runs)
If you feel hard done by, then go to a normal PH meet, or Organise one, then people will meet you, get to know you then if you are as decent as you say you are, there will probably be an invite arrive soon after.
I'm not having a personal go at anyone on here, as i like both PH and SSC.

Ask around the forums for the starting points for whatever area you live in, then just follow everybody else. Or turn up in Inverness on the morning of the Hoon and drive about looking for a load of nice cars parked in a car park around 10am. Or wait on the north side of the Kessock bridge for everybody to go thundering past. 20+ high performance cars and a Mustang won't be difficult to spot.
Or, just wait and see if you get an invite. Or email and ask if you can get an invite, think the address is on the front page
