The OH has booked a weekend away in Aberdeen for some reason and never checked for things to do, I've never been so not sure either.

There will be no driving done at all so cancel any driving escapades out.

Any ideas?

If your feeling adventurous you could try the docks after nightfall!!! haha

Depends when your going and if any driving is out of the question as there are some nice beaches, castles, distileries etc to visit but none in the city centre of course!

Depends what you're into of course but there's the art gallery, maritime museum, Duthie Park and now I've run out of ideas.

Aberdeen is NOT the place to come for an enlightened week-end away! Unless you like getting thoroughly pissed-up with your woman (never a great plan on my experience!). Try taking a trip up Deeside though...

Why not try an amazing walk along Balmedie Beach...Its 6miles outside the city (easy to get to on bus as its on the Fraserburgh route along the A90)...The Dunes and scenary are amazing...I go there to gather thoughts as its so remote and you can feel so alone...which for a start to evening as the sun goes down would be amazing for you and your significant other...then take it elsewhere...! Only a suggestion.

You could always take a train to stonehaven and come and see some of the sights... well, the castle. Then have a few drinks down the harbour.

You could always hire a car from Rio for the afternoon and go for a wee spin through the countryside, then hand the keys back so you can go and sample many of the fine drinking establishments in the city.

Thats true. The Toll Booth was voted one of the best in Scotland I think.
And The Marine Hotel just accross the harbour was voted best bub in Scotland too.

I'm not so sure about the Tollbooth you know -

This review's a bit old now but I have heard it's not far off the mark.

Thanks for the ideas folks, I won't be driving as I'm having a weekend off and having a 'couple' drinks drink

The OH doesn't like driving in places she doesn't know so will take some persuading if we want to go out and about! idea

Take the Train to Stonehaven and have a few drinks at the harbour and something nice to eat.

Either that or charter me to take you on a Scenic flight over the Highlands ;-)
