Guess I can almost call myself a Pistonheader now?

This is kind of an introduction although I've been a lurker far too long. Never felt I could justify joining in while driving a standard 5dr Focus though, until today! Just put down a deposit on a Clio 197 which will grace my drive from sometime next week.
Really cannot wait- my last vaguely interesting car was also my first- A '94 Mini Cooper which I had to sell in '98 and have been missing interesting driving since. So if you see a silver 197 around Edinburgh from next weekend, chances are the smug smiling git behind the wheel will be me!

Cheers for the welcome, not sure I can make the drinks, got a final assignment for Uni due week after and haven't started it yet!
Clio is a standard 197, Cups are too new and out of price range still. Have heard the suspension is a bit hard for most use too. Also like the keyless entry the Cup doesn't have!
Trophy- think I recognise your car? Does it have a related reg no. and would it ever have been parked at a Science Park near Penicuik?

Well the Clio should have been here now, if it wasn't for the ineptitude of the dealer who only discovered the missing V5 at 5.30pm yesterday, meaning it cant be taxed until monday, if at all. Dealer claims they can tax using V10, but DVLA say it needs V5 as its not being taxed by registered keeper. Replacement V5 can take 6 weeks to arrive...
Car was on private reg when traded in, and although they claim the docs have gone to Swansea its anyones guess when this actually happened since the car showed as being in stock since last november!
Considerably less than happy, if the dopy funkwit had checked the file before knocking off time on friday this could potentially have been sorted with a trip to the DVLA local office. Was promised an update first thing today, but typically took me calling 4 times to get any info at 3pm.
Well done dealer- now you have a pissed off customer and the prospect of having to deliver the car 120 miles from the showroom. You have until tuesday lunchtime to deliver or the deal is off.

Get used to it - you've bought a Renault The 197's a great car, shame about the dealers though. I'll never buy another Renault after shoddy experiences (lots of them) with the dealers (lots of them too).
