Anyone been to the above for food? If so, would you recommend it?

It was the subject of one of Absolutely's classic claims to fame and also mentioned here.

More than that I cannot tell you.

Cheers,

Eric smile

You misunderstand me.

I appreciated you saying thanks. I thought it was very nice and polite.

No dig, just grateful for someone being decent.

I hope you are feeling better. smile

Cheers,

Eric smile

The Kitchin is a very good Michelin starred restaurant. The food is excellent.

Haven't tried the Kitchen yet, but with Martin Wishart's round the corner at the same price (£50 per head for the chef's 6/7 course tasting menu) it's got some pretty stiff competition.

I have been twice and on both occasions it has been excellent. Service and food are both top class, one of Edinburghs best in my opinion.

There's also the Plumed Horse just up from Martin Wishart - another Michelin starred restaurant.

Been for lunch.

Enjoyed it but the service was a bit odd, every time they put down a dish they insisted in on naming it. "This is the confit of duck with red wine jus and a terrine of roast veg" that sort of thing.

The waiter seemed to have a French accent but when we asked him where he was from he sheepishly said "Lanark". biglaugh

Would I be correct in saying that this is the restaurant that featured on Gordon Ramsey's Kitchen Knightmare?

If I remember correctly it was the one in Inverness that featured and at the end of the program the owner told Gordon he was opening another restaurant in Edinburgh.

That's one of the few RKK shows that i've seen. That guy didn't seem to have great ideas about how to run a business and was just quite lucky...
