Lived in Bo'ness for 22 years and that's the area you're going to.

You've got quite a few areas within reasonable range including the following :

Grangemouth (well kinda goes without saying wink)
Falkirk
Bo'ness
Polmont
Maddiston
Brightons
Linlithgow

but to name a few.

I have a few relatives work at BP and they live in Bo'ness and Grangemouth. I now live in Falkirk and used to be a Police officer in Falkirk to I know the area quite well.

By all means if you need any advice just post up.

Linlithgow. Nice wee high street with a variety of pubs and nice houses.
On the train line to civilisation too.

12 pubs to be exact

Linlithgow also also has one of the best academys around.
The main train line from edinburgh to glasgow stops at linlithgow, Edinburgh 30 mins, glasgow 60 mins away.

Depends on your budget, but IMO most parts of Falkirk are nicer than Grangemouth: purely being outside of the "blast zone" has to be a bonus LOL. Bo'ness is too far out for my liking with no train service.

It'd be nice to be near a train station (near Falkirk High, Polmont or Linlithgow) for trips to Glasgow, Edinburgh and Stirling. Brilliant, if pricy, train service to them all.

Most parts of Falkirk are OK, Bainsford and Langlees probably being the worst, but even they're not as bad as they used to be. I stayed in Rumford for almost 5 years and am now in Reddingmuirhead.

In fact, what's your budget? I know of an excellent house for sale... wink

Thanks to everyone for their suggestions, certainly got some research to do!! I'll probably rent initially for 6 months and then buy oce i'm settled into the job. I've got no kids so i'm not too fussed about schools! Mainly interested in being in an area with some good local amenities (food and drink!!) and somewhere you can leave the car with minimal risk of it disappearing!!

Rightmove here i come!!

Cheers

Edinburgh is definetly 30 mins away off peak. The glasgow time depends on if you get the train through falkirk high or falkirk grahamston stations

Was the hydrocracker that blew. Big bang.

If you are single and have no ties, then go for Falkirk mate cheaper that the citys and lots of pubs/places to eat on your door step.

Rightmove FK1 for rentals.

Take it you are coming to BP/Ineos?
