The B10 V8 threw a wobbly the other night and had to be recovered back to the homestead. I've never had a great deal of luck diagnosing misfires in the previous 540 so I'm happy to send the B10 wherever it needs to go to have it returned to full health.

Trouble I'm not sure what the best option is. I don't want to take it far as I'll risk further damage driving in its current state.

The options I've came up with so far includes Douglas Park, Harry Fairbairn, or B4BMW in Clydebank who appear to be kitted with dealer diagnostics.

I've swapped plugs and coils and Carsoft only offers 'Misfires on several cylinders' by way of diagnostics. I've also swapped cam sensor and MAF and that never helped either so I'm at a loss.

Does anyone have any recommendation of trusted mechanics in the Glasgow area?

Cheers

I've used Ronnie Weaver over on Delvin Rd, Cathcart and can recommend them (now run by Andy as Ronnie's retired) also used Auto-Tec down in Port Glasgow.. ask for Big Davie, very helpful and very much old school mechanics... always plenty of interesting metal in their workshop as well.

ETA: Douglas Park took over Harry's a good while ago.....

This conversation is also happening on the Bavarian Board...

I don't know any Glasgow garages (except Merparts!), but Peter Vardy in Seafield and my car seem to get on well together.

Get it up to Aberdeen and to AW Autotech, that's where a certain Aberdonian from www.thealpinaregister.com - who I'm sure you're aware of - takes his but I'm sure you've probably posted on there too.
