Has anyone had a rubber to chrome bumper conversion done, or can recommend anywhere in Aberdeenshire or surrounding area ?.

20th Century Classics in Newtonhill always seem to have plenty of B's kicking around their workshop. Might be worth a call.

Thanks for that, but I'm afraid I've only heard bad reports about them.

Sad isn't it. Eleven years in business, MG Owners club approved for 9 of them. Many, many happy customers, some of whom have been returning to us for 10+ years, petrolheads through and through, and the first mention we get on Pistonheads is "only heard bad things about them". One upset customer, justified or not, can undo dozens of satisfied customers. Oh well.

Nick - co-owner of Twentieth Century Classics, Newtonhill and member here for many years.

Re 20th Century Classiscs - I have discovered the "background" to the reports I had been given about them.
Suffice to say that I would have contacted them I had known this previously.

Yes, Bernie is the co-owner of 20cc and the MG Guru (I prefer Saabs!)

Okay Nick, I thought so but wanted to check - Bernie know his MGs probably better than anyone in this area, so anyone doing MG work it would be worthwhile speaking to him. I've bought Mg stuff off him over the years from his house in Portlethen, garage in Charles Street and also Laurencekirk.

He managed to buy a P4 Rover just before me many years ago and the number plate ended up on his teal blue GT.

That would be MGB 8 - only sold about 2-3 years ago, still with only 20k miles on it!
