Sorry for simply posting a link but I feel like it explains it better than I can, obviously!

Anyone else seen this?

No secret there then, least ways to those of us old enough to remember the "Its Scotlands Oil" campaign in the early seventies... along with with girls in hotpants and cheesecloth shirts...drifts off
where was I... Imagine a country of 5 million with the income that has been generated..
But we would never have made a go off it... aye. right

Haven't seen that link, but I remember ages ago on here a discussion throwing up all sorts of dirty dealings around the time - particularly in the light of NS discoveries. Worth a bit of Google-time to dig some stuff up. This makes interesting reading though: http://nesara.insights2.org/ScottishOil.html

There is this from the Adam Smith Institute in 2007
http://www.adamsmith.org/blog/government/scotland'...

"Gabriel Stein has calculated for the Adam Smith Institute that if an independent Scotland pursued a low tax policy like that of the Republic of Ireland, the average Scottish household would soon be £8,000 better off. We think that an independent Scotland could and would be better off financially if it pursued the tax policy advocated by Alex Salmond. It might be time now to adjust the financial strings in a way that allows Scotland to raise and spend more of its own revenue."

we'd have to find jobs for the massive amount of people who work for the state and all the useless glasgwegian layabouts claiming benefits first.

It's all entirely consistent with the UK being a hostile occupying power... whistle

We are of course assuming that the SNP wouldn't just squander it. Their budget dealings so far have hardly been faultless, have they?

The SNP have one real purpose - to arrange our exit from the UKof GB&NI.

Then, it's game on... smile

Their key manifesto financial points with oil being about 20% the price it was when they were elected and our thriving financial sector would appear to have taken a bit of a blow.

Or if you're SNP then Westminster is propping up an ailing union by seizing all our companies.
rolleyes

You can quote Ireland as the celtic tiger and Norway all you like, but with the A8 countries now in the EU we're a long way from getting bailed out by them.

If the Nats don't bite it at the next election, then they're away at the one after without making any significant progress.
A Scottish referendum on independence is utterly irrelevant too, seeing constitutional matters are retained by Westminster.

If Westminster ignored a Scottish vote for independence it would lose any vestige of legitimacy. smile
