forgot about this, went to go look at a replacement family wagon last weekend in Cults. Approaching the roundabout at Westhill witt the dual carriageway, we were coming from the Westhill direction, saw a chap wrapping up a wee baby with a green jerry can, rammed with traffic. I stopped, car was full of our own kids so we drove to the filling station and got him a full can of petrol. Nice to help...

However, i said i would wait to make sure he gets going just in case the pump wasn't going etc... he fidgeted with the filler and the fuel filler nozzle just would NOT engage with the tank. There is a blanking pate with a ring, seems to be expanding around this, the filler nozzle just doesnt move it over. So result? Chap had to phone Ford roadside recovery so they could take his car to a petrol station to then fill it up... is this madness and commonplace these days? seemed madness, what about ford mondeo owners running out say in the west cost!!!

You get a funnel, usually kept in the spare wheel to allow you to fill the car with a fuel can if the car has 'easyfuel'

He should have read the book.

Easyfuel, how apt!
In fairness, he did read the manual and in the spare wheel well was a towing eye and some locking wheel nuts... does this mean all new manufacturers are going to switch to something similar to this?
