Good morning PHers,
Planning a trip up to Wester Ross/Syke in April from Glos. First Night's stop will be around Spean Bridge. Can anyone recommend a decent Hotel/Inn in the area please? Hotels sorted for second night - NE Syke, third - Torridon and forth Northern Lakes. Many thanks.

I would actually stay slightly further south than Spean Bridge - and if you were to stay somewhere round about here (Ballachulish near Glen Coe) http://www.information-britain.co.uk/showPlace.cfm... there are nice shorts walks and good facilities. Torridon Hotel is a good choice - are you staying somewhere near Portree on Skye?

If you have time en route between Skye and Torridon see and do a detour to Plockton and/or Applecross (you can go up over the Pass (nice Inn for lunch then round the coast to Shieldaig and on to Torridon)

Whirligig, thanks for your advice. We are staying at Flodigarry which is just north of Staffin. The Applecross loop is on the schedule (weather depending)before reaching the Torridon. Out of Torridon we plan to head east through Glen Torridon towards Inverness and then down the western shore of the loch.
