Hello fellow PH'ers,

I am looking for a mechanic that can visit a car onsite to setup a timing belt. Basically I am about to change the oil pump on my car and for that job to be done I have to remove the timing belt. However I need the thing put back on and the timing set up. Car is in my garage so I require a visit onsite (cant be moved). Aberdeen area. Let me know if you know of anyone smile

thanks in advance

Assume you mean a cam belt, usually you would lock down the two pulleys before removing the belt and then refit the belt without allowing them to move. If you don't have the means to do that then can't you simply mark the pulleys and belt to show the relative position and refit exactly the same? It's not as if these things have to be timed in - it'll either be exactly right, or out by multiples of a tooth.
