Hi guys - Fairly new PH'er and first thread.

Basically letting people know that someone's been going round breaking into cars in and around the student car park at Aberdeen Uni. Had mine smashed into on Monday 26th January, along with about 5 other cars. Nothing taken (including the brilliant The Who Live CD) but windscreen smashed.

So if you do park in the car park - Stick to the left where the lights are, and if anyone has any information about a possible suspect then don't hesitate to message me.

Cheers

Hi,

Which particular carpark are you referring to?

Cheers,

That Car Park used to be a nightmare, potholes, cars seemingly parked at random blocking in others.
I take it hasn't changed?

I gave up using it after I lost 2 wing mirrors in 2 weeks and started parking next to the sports hall.

It's the car park between the library and Meston Walk. Hate using that car park. I use the Butchart car park now, though that has a huge pot hole at the entrance.

I have BMW AC Shnitzer 2 door coupe and I leave it at home. If I need to take it to uni I park it in staff areas. I always get a "you shouldn't park here" ticket but its worth it.

Thanks for the tip.

P.S My mate parks his Golf at the Bobbin with NO problems. Just a recommendation if your desperate.

Cheers - Bobbin car park sounds good. My friend parks his Range Rover in the student car park. His car was actually parked next to mine when mine was broken into. Not a scratch on his.

Might just park my Westfield in the staff car park, should I ever have to drive it in.

Students in Range Rovers? WTF? When I was at Aberdeen Uni, in the mid-90s I had a lowly G-reg Nissan Bluebird. Stylish, I think you won't agree.

(It's spelt cereal)

So tell me, if not for modesty, adequate schooling or a trust fund how does a student come across such wealth?

I'm quite intrequed too.
The main reason I have a Westfield is because my dad's an engineer, and I'm studying engineering - so building a car seemed like a good father-son project.

Funnily enough, it is black with tinyed windows. Though I know how he got it, and it's got nought to do with the underworld, if you get my drift;)

I'm a poor student with no car just so people don't think we're all stealing your hard earned money through taxes!

Not seen anything in the carpark although it's been a bit dodgy for years.

yes

Between '95 and '99, my car was broken into seven times while parked round the campus. Nothing changes.

Useless thieves though. They stole my mate's cigarettes from my glove box once but left a 200watt amp behind. Another time, they stole my gym bag complete with dirty underwear - would love to have seen their faces smile
