People will say it is because he's in the job but it was a different force. Suprised he wasn't banned a s well but i've seen and heard of plenty of people given similar outcomes for the same kind of thing.

The way i understand it is that anything 30mph over the limit is an instant ban.

Well if the courts don't get him I'm quite sure the "Professional Standards" department will rolleyes They're good at that kind of thing.

No, doesn't really work that way, it's up to the Court in most cases and judged on merit. I got caught doing well in excess of 30mph over the limit a short few years ago on the A90 near the Laurencekirk bypass. Replied by letter, adding a grovelling apology and I got 4 points and £400 fine. The cops that pulled me told me to expect a ban, but my letter seemed to have the desired effect.
