Thinking of putting a new SatNav/Music all-in-one double-din jobby in my new Golf R32.

Heard good reviews about the Pioneer F900BT.

Any recommendations in Edinburgh for somewhere that knows their stuff and wont make a mess of an install? Doesn't need to be the cheapest, would prefer to pay a bit more and get a proper job done, ie I won't be going to Halfrauds !

My initial thoughts are Ray Smith, because I used them once before many years ago, but would be grateful if anyone has other personal recommendations

Cheers

If you fancy a wee journey then Skidz in Falkirk is as good as any.

El Stumpo ( but his real name is Craig ) on here is the "heed boy" there, I'm sure he can help you out!

Nope.. But without sounding like a creep is your car reg K* GUS? Becuase I used to be like cloud9 when I saw your Silver 350Z in the car park. Then the other day I saw a Blue R32 and I saw you had a new car.. It's lovely!

Ah, OK, is the car in your profile in the car park - I'll keep an eye out for it ?

Yep the 350Z was a fantastic car, loved it to bits - but I'm needing 4 doors/seats, so thought the R32 was a reasonable compromise in the current economic climate. Not as nice looking as the 350Z, and not as fast, but needs must and all that.

Anythng to look out for on an r32 spec - 2006 second hand prices are starting to look very attractive - I assume it is noticeably swifter than the gti - any disappointments with it ?

The R32 is not much quicker than a GTI if at all. In fact I would have thought the Ed30 GTI (230bhp) may be faster. The R32 is very heavy in comparison. Totally different character car. The GTI is more nimble whereas the R32 can understeer a fair bit due to the weight at the front. The R32 is so smooth it actually feels slow and the grip is tremendous even in the wet. The GTI is more fun to drive whereas the R32 is a high spped cruiser. And just in case you think I'm biassed towards teh GTI I have a R32 and love it.

The only dissappointment would be the fuel consuption but you know that before uying it.
