Not only that but unless they have improved that ramp you have nae chance of getting a sports car up it. Thats why most of the Tiv guys on here used to drive to Newcastle for their LeMans/Ring trips.

I just checked for a return trip With Norfolk line from Rosyth to Zebrugge 13-19 June, 1 car 2 people = £676.00

Same time with DFDS Seaways from Newcastle £316. Hmmm I wonder which one I'll take.

And the DFDS line runs every day, unlike the Norfolk line, which is 3 times a week.

Although having a look at it, it is also £676 for 4 folk, so it could just be that we (i.e. a couple) are the wrong demographic for them and they are hoping for family travel.

Saying that, 4 folk with DFDS is £384. Still a huge saving for an extra 4 hours (each way) drive.

I went from Hull last time. 11 odd hours on a boat is pretty much as much as I can stand. I think the extra 8 hours or whatever it is from Rosyth would drive me mental.

That said I might feel a bit differently if I lived further north and had several hours drive just to get to Rosyth, or had a lot of driving (e.g. 8 hours plus) to do on the other side.

Would love the convienience of the 30 min or so drive to/from Rosyth but the £250-350 saving by going to Hull is to much to miss

My 2p's worth :-

Go via Newcastle to IJMuiden - way better autobahn fodder ( assumuing your heading to The Ring)

Going via Zeebrugge to the Ring means sloooooooow traffic near Brussels = dull drive !

Hope this Euro parity rapidly changes !

Seconded, much better service, and the roads are way better from Ijmuiden. Very tolerant lot over here.
And the quay staff at Ijmuiden all seem to be petrolheads! Good bunch of people, more than prepared to help out with groups/low slung cars etc.
Excellent fish cafe/restaurant on the quay at Ijmuiden, for future reference if yoiu are waiting. Pass the Terminal office and continue down the road by the side of it - car park on the point, great view of the harbour and so on, and really good grub. And beer!!
