Hi Folks,

I'm after a spot of guidance.

As it becomes more track focused my Impreza is becoming less appealing to drive to and from circuits etc. As such, i've decided to buy a trailer to tow with my Discovery but am looking for a little guidance from any experienced towers out there.

The Subaru will be around 1200kgs in weight with a wheelbase of 2520mm and width of 1704mm so will need a reasonable size of trailer. I think that a Brian James A-Max (AM-T-220 or A-T-551) or Ifor Williams G 136 TA or XD would be suitable.

I've seen a few similar trailers to the above for around £1500 but i'm now wondering if i'm best just hiring when I need a trailer.

Therfore, does anyone have any recommendations for a trailer hire place as near to Aberdeen as possible? I may still also be interested in buying provided the trailer is in good condition and not too expensive.

Thanks in advance for any assistance.

Cheers

James

Before I bought my BJ, I hired a trailer from Balgownie Machine (?). The place across the road from the Northern Hotel.

They have some there and (I think) some at their place at Thainstone (beside the mart).

At that time, they were the only agents for Brian James in the NE. I bought from them as well.

Cheers,

The trailer in the link is only single axle. Unless it has serious tyres it will not take the weight of your car. I would not want to tow that with near 1.5 tonnes on it either!

I bought from Duncan Macintosh at Brechin, a CT177 biggy as he will better any price given. He will also hire you a CT177 for the same sort of money as the one in the link.
