Hello folks, im a frequent user of these forums and find them envaluable for advice so i thought id see what you guys thought about the following?

Im not looking to use this as a pickup for members so i will not be listing the company but im looking to take a well established car club franchise up to north of the border but wondered what some of the Scottish members here thought of these clubs? Are they too pricey? Even in current economic meltdown is there still value in these car hire clubs from a petrol heads point of view?

Was just looking for some suggestions....

Many thanks in advance.

Sorry is this a dealer franchise or a car share club? If its the latter then car share clubs are all about convenience of economy A to B motoring, why would a car enthusiast be interested in that! Sorry I'm not usually as blunt as this, but this is a forum for car enthusiasts!

Edited to say: Nothing against car share clubs per se, they are great for those who want utilitiy transport, but there relevence here is very questionable, whats to say about driving a basic Fiesta or Corsa?

To be frankly honest, I'd have to say no.

Not that I know the economics of individual firms there has been a couple go down in England recently (again forum info)

Big fan of clubs in general, shame Mrs is not..

You may have misunderstood me the club is a Supercar hire like P1 & Rio Prestege etc club where members get the chance to drive exotica that perhaps they would not normally be able to.

I think this service is totally aimed at the petrol head who appreciates performance cars and would be willing to pay for having access to these vehicles.

If anyone still doesn't think its a good idea then please let me know why as constructive criticism is appreciated.

Thanks again...

I have no experiance in this kind of thing but as an outsider I can't see how these kind of companies make much money up here especially now with the economy the way it is.
I didnt think there was enough of a petrolhead population in Scotland to keep funding Rio,P1 etc although they must be doing ok judging by the car's they have.
The thing that put me off completely about hiring a Ferrari/Lambo etc is the mileage limit, 100 miles a day? waste of time unless you got it delivered straight to the edge of your favourite road!

Yeah well, obviously the guy behind rio has very deep pockets too. Spoke to a few of the rio guys at supercar sunday few months back when they had everything at KH, good bunch of guys indeed.

I agree - I've considered hiring something from a supercar club before but have always been put off by the mileage restrictions. If you're paying that kind of money I'd want to be in it all day and 100-150 miles is just nowhere near enough.
