imagine the coms conversation...........(not my dsv btw)

Pilot "the rovs not flying very well"

Supervisor "why not, what's up?"

pilot " i dont know, there was a bump and now its flying like a burst a*se"

supervisor "recover to deck then and we will have a look"

on deck........o *uck!! that will be it then!!

Im on the J W McLean just now and heard people talking about a shark stuck in an ROV yesterday, wonder who volunteered to remove it :O

Got the gist of that but for the benefit of us (dumb) non oil people is the thing it bit a remote unmanned vehicle?

that's the back end of a work class Rov (remotely operated vehicle) a triton xl i think!

just as well it did not pick on my seaeye tiger or the outcome would not have been so good for the rov!!

I wass looking at ROVing for an alternative job - all looks like good fun. No one knows the DSV Aquamarine? mate on it at the mo.

I started my rov career on the "Aqualatrine" it was not a bad old thing but its very old now.. i would have thought it will still be ok though if its been looked after, quite small i seem to remember.

but if you can get "in" you will work on a LOT worse, usually in the Middle East, Mexico or the USA.

Great picture ^^^^^^^^

The shark one looks like one of our ROV's, we think a Centurian. That picture has been going round our email system like wildfire smile

This chappy came to say hello last time I was offshore in the Mediterranean. Nearly fell off my seat as he approached the ROV came right upto the camera. We reckon he was 3-4 metres long. Never realised there was such big sharks in the med.
They seem curious, bit like the video of the whale coming upto an ROV
