Does anybody in Aberdeen repair BMW Bridgestone run flat tyres. I've picked up a screw in the centre of the tread and I don't want to chuck out an otherwise good tyre or fork out £250. It is a slow puncture so the tyre has not been run flat.

As far as i am aware no one can repair run flat tyres dude, this certainly used to be the case.

Had mine repaired by the guys in BoD, next to the hyundia garage, just down from Vetco Gray, I don't live in Aberdeen any more so can't be more specific. I had a 1 series BMW with runflats, they fixed it no problem though they did say it was very tight to come off the rim.

They can be repaired. That said though I intend to change all 4 RF on my BM 645 to "normal" tyres as I'm sick of forking out over £300 every few months for a new tyre. The Bridgestones I've had are total rubbish and keep getting bulges on the sidewalls, which writes them off.

I’ve not had any problems with wear on mine buts it’s mainly town driving I use it for. However at a grand for 4 tyres I may well opt for normal tyres that give more grip and comfort for less outlay. With the money I save I’ll be able to afford a spare or a tin of tyre weld and a compressor

My wifes 1 series BM will be needing new tyres soon
is it just a case of replacing the run flat tyres
with normal ones or do the wheels have to be changed as well

My understanding is that you can change to normal tyres on the BMW without changing the wheels. I do know that some of the other manufacturers use special wheels for their run flat tyres

Had exactly the same with a Goodyear Run flat.
Bulge just appeared in the sidewall.
keep meaning to send it back to Goodyear.

Laws fixed my tyre today, no problem at all, £240 saved, thank you. Apparently the reluctance in repairing these tyres is due to the fact that the strengthened tyre walls can be damaged when you run them flat at speed or for any distance. The tyre fitters only have your word for how far or fast you’ve driven. I know that I noticed this slow puncture before it went flat so I'm happy.

I have a 335d and have done 32,000 miles so far, great car except for the tyres.
Had three 330ds before this one doing roughly 30k per year all on non RFTs and was getting 40+k from the rears and 60+k from the fronts. On this car I get half that plus a wandering car and my driving habits are just the same. Also the RFTs are 50% more expensive so taking into account all the comments above I will be changing over to non RFTs.
I used Angus Tyres in Arbroath to replace the 2 rear ones with Michelin RFTs at 22k both fitted for just over £300 (and I thought that was dear?) the fronts are due soon so will use this company again

I have seen that kicking about in Aberdeen - looks and sounds great!! Does he still have the big red Dodge (Think it was a dodge!). Great company - got my puncture repaired by them recently and saved me a fortune. Nice to find an honest garage for once.
