Hi there,

Hoping someone might be able to point me in the right direction of a good garage to have my 12,000 mile service done near Aberdeen. I was recommended a lad called Neol Flannery at V8 Sports and Classics near Edinburgh, but seems he's abroad most of the time and can't help. He did recommend Hexham Horseless Carriages though. But this is in Northumberland.

Any advice would be great.

Thanks you,

Steve.

Hi Steve,

You should try Dreadnought in Callender near stirling, they regularly service these things, i used them (along with tvrpower) when i had my T350.

If you send Nick Blair a PM (Username:- nicholas blair) I'm sure he will guide you to where he goes, I know he wouldn't consider anyone else for his TVR's. As for the distance, just enjoy the drive!!!!

Hi Steve,

Another vote for the folk's at Dreadnought. They do my car also and I can't fault them. Friendly and professional service and go out of their way to help.

We were down last month and made a day of it. Visited Mike (who got me to part with my pennies yet again!! laugh) and Eddie at Rio Prestiege and then we headed over to stay overnight in Loch Lomond driving up via Fort William the next day, great run apart from the weather laugh.

Proper mechanics, have a scan through here to see the posts in relation to their work.

Next door to the railway station so easy to get back into town/to collect the car.

(edit: Dreadnought are good but the distance is a hassle from Aberdeen)

Hi again,

Wow, thanks for the quick replies!!

360, I've emailed Nick so hope he gets back, thanks for the pointer.

I should say, i'm working in Dubai just now and it won't be me who's driving the T350 down. I'm leaving it to a highly enthusiatic friend of mine to take and i know he's kind of pushed for time. Sadly i haven't driven my car in over 5 months!! Gutted. and won't be till after New Year before i get another chance.

Looks like Dreadnought in Callender is looking promising, thanks again for the recommendations. This is my first time having this service done, any advice on what to expect? Rough costs? Time it takes?

Thanks.

Steve.

Expect twice the price of JD and a substancial petrol bill for run down to Callender if you use Dreadnought.

I have always been of the opinion that if you can't afford the fuel then you can't afford the car. biglaugh

If your friend is driving this may not be an option, but most garages south of the border are £200 cheaper, just a thought for future use.

Dreadnought have a good reputation as far as I can tell, so if you don't mind paying a little extra then I would go with them, I'm always a little unhappy leaving my car with anyone other than a TVR only garage.

Second that for Hexham, 340 mile round trip but well worth it IMHO.

Steve,

Good to here from you and that the T350 is being looked after in your absence, if you need it warmed up you know who to call. Hope Dubai is treating you well.

I am annoying your neighbours in Beaconsfield now. I bought a Griffith 500 in August, different type of noise from yours but just as good!

I can't add much to the debate as I've heard good reports about both. Give me a shout when your back in Aberdeen and we can go out for a blast.

Cheers,

Ean

Hi there again,

Thanks for all the info. I think I'll give the chap at Dreadnought a call. It's a big service and i'm probably more inclined to get it done at a TVR garage. Seems like the lads at Insch might be the way forward for the inevitable bits and peices though.

Thanks again for all the help.

TallGriff, delighted to hear the lovely residents of Beaconsfield are being terrorised once again!! smile Starting the T350 up at 6:30am, or rolling back home after 11pm used to make me feel a bit guilty, but then again, there are worse sounding things to wake up to!! I'll give you a shout when i'm back in Aberdeen mate.

Cheers,

Steve.

Thought you were coming into see me last week what happened? Would have recommended JD Motors to you for your rich running 500 as they are local and John and I have known each other for 20odd years through the motorsport and Dave the Wizard is my Brother-in-law, plus they are both top blokes and know there stuff. They also appreciate nice motors and look after them like thay were their own.
