Apartment / Accomodation in Scotland (one night stay)

Okay folks,

The other half and I are planning to go away this weekend. Trouble is I'm finding it difficult to gather ideas on where to go. I'm thinking of renting an apartment somewhere, where I dont know! I've looked into Edinburgh and made a few enquires, Glasgow is out the question because we're there every other night. I'd like to try Dundee, Aberdeen, Perth etc as I've heard these places are quite lively and its somewhere different. Can anyone recommend somewhere? It has to be a place with a couple of decent restraunts, chic clubs and good nightlife as we're planning to go out for a 'few' then head back to a nice, cosy flat/hotel/apartment..

Dundee is actually a good night out, just stay around about the Perth road but don't go into the town centre!

The Scottish Malt Whisky Society has apartments it rents to out of town members, membership is around £40 per annum and it has places in Edinburgh and London. The George Street Edinburgh premises has a very good restaurant as well. Have a look on www.SMWS.co.uk

Hi guys and thanks for all your replies. Le Monde was one of the hotels I'd enquired about. Ended up booking Hotel the George on George Street which seems to fit the bill and is very central. Have managed to blag a queue jump and vip at the Opal Lounge which should make for the ideal night.
