Alright Guys,

I'm looking to organise a clay pigeon shoot for approx. 10-15 people towards the end of November. All novices so an introductory lesson would be ideal as it's part of a birthday plan.

Does anyone know anywhere good in the Glasgow area? Don't mind travelling if required but trying to keep costs down so avoiding Gleneagles and the like...

Any thoughts or recommendations appreciated...

Thanks for the replies guys - will drop them both a line. Also, has anyone used the Central Scotland Shooting School in Cumbernauld? Found a couple of references to them in Google and they seem quite close...

+1 for cluny clays.

They have a driving range too if anyone is into swinging a golf bat around.

Kartstart is just 5 mins down the road too if your looking for a few things to do in the same area.

+ 2 for cluny clays, had a good few days out there.

Usually go up with my mate, he gets free shells from his work and we stay there till its dark or the shoulders cant take any more!

Glasgow but I can recommend these guys:

If you have the land they will come to you, they will also let you set up a BBQ on their land. The guns are decommisioned shot-guns, so still weighty but as it is just a laser, you can enjoy a little refreshment or two (except the designated driver!)

It will do the job but, the old boy who owns it is a bit of a grumpy old tt.

^That was going to be my suggestion.

We had a stag day there, was outstanding.

I would vote for cluny clays.
A gun and a pint what could go wrong?

I could but to be honest he is such a grumpy old fecker i would rather go over to Cluny clays in Fife for the day.
It has a nice club house so you can get a bite to eat and a pint after shooting.

Mind you I suppose Cumbernauld is hand for us, I am sure he could fit us in any time if we wanted to go.
When are you back in the UK?

Next visit home is 18th to 21st Nov but that's mid week, I'm home from 16th Dec until
January 5 or 6 that would be better..that's assuming the flight connections all match
up..it's a bit of a pain over the winter as there are no direct flights.

There's also the place down in Ayrshire, nr Moscow I think. Ask Bricky as he shot there
when he was in the Scottish team.
