Anyone got an idea on the cheapest way to get a small car from Essex to Aberdeen within the next few weeks ? Best quote I've had so far is £400 but is dependant on them getting a return journey.

I could hire a trailer and pick it up myself but I'm pretty pushed for time at the moment.

Any suggestions very welcome!

Does it drive with tax/MOT? If so fly yourself/someone down to drive it back. Ask for volunteers on here maybe, someone might fancy a trip to Scotland.

Thing is Essex is a PITA to get to from Aberdeen if you are flying.

It drives but with no Tax / MOT at the moment, its something I'm considering adding to my collection as a probably future classic...

Bought most of my other cars from down south so no stranger to flying down and driving back!

I tried this a few months ago. I actually found the cheapest company was an agricultural haulier in Turriff. They move cattle and grain from my parents farm.

Can't remember the name but would image putting haulier and turriff into yell.com would answer your question.

Never used them but I got a quote from Falkirk car carriers when buying my Cerbera from a dealer in London and from memory they quoted £200 but I decided I wanted to drive it home instead.
