Hi all. Am in Glasgow on Friday night for a little recital by the popular 80s rockabilly combo the Stray Cats. I'm driving there so would appreciate any info for nearby car parks, apparently there's next to no parking by the venue.

thankyou! smile

I've been there a few times. When i'm driving I usually get parked on the road going down the side. Think you have to go the long way round the block to get there though.
ETA: not sure how much I'd trust leaving a TVR there, but I really don't know the area well.

I aim to get there in plenty of time so will have a scout round the area for parking first, but any info will help me, thanks smile

IIRC there is parking at Bridge street underground or Centre St / Cook St not far from venue or park in city centre (or any other underground station with parking) and take underground to Bridge street

Park in one of the council car parks in town and take the underground to Bridge St. Even if you walk, it's only about 15-20mins.

Why the council ones? £1.50 flat fee after 6.30pm, so pretty good if you're off out to the cinema or a concert.

Parking in the city and walk/bus/taxi over the Academy is only way to go if you are driving anything even nearly decent.....

TAXI!

Way too much money use the underground a whole lot cheaper and a two minute walk from Carling Academy to Bridge street

The Maitland street or Cowcaddens road/Cambridge street carparks are next to Cowcaddens Underground station so depending on where you are coming from these could be your best bet

I take it by decent you mean anything not powered by a horse?

Its a st hole. Last time i went there, to see frankie Boyle, me and 4 of my mates got hassled of a couple of junkies.

Nice. can't be any worse than greenock though where i was late last year, now that really was a sth%le frown the only place i've ever been where I felt genuinely unsafe.
