Having asked previously on here where to get a PPI done on a 355 I looked at a few months ago, Carlo at Top Gear Specialist Cars was recommended. I did not proceed with that one as it needed far too much work so I have been looking again. I have seen a car I like that Carlo is selling. Assuming an indepedent PPI would be a good idea, who else in the Edinburgh area would you recommend?

John Buchan.

Met him a couple of times, really nice guy.
He is always busy.

Don't have contact details but if necessary I could probably find out.

I also spoke with John Buchan re Ferrari Servicing and, although I went to Carlo for the servicing, found John to be really helpful... but busy! I have a mob number for him somewhere I think. Won't you get a fairly comprehensive Warranty from Carlo?

Just came back from Carlo's yesterday after picking up the murci and 360 from its servicing and MOT and the black 355 is absolutely stunning....(I'm biased as I really like black cars). Like Jim said, Carlo will probably give you a warranty for the car to give you a peace of mind. Call him and have a chat with him....Really nice guy and he might make you a cup of coffee too biggrin

Sorry, my first post was not too clear, it was actually the 348 I went to look at. I saw it on Saturday. My budget will only really stretch to a 348, it's just that I had looked at a 355 that was only slightly more expensive previously - although after I saw it, it was apparent why!! Carlo seemed like a really nice guy and I have read lots of good things about him on here. It's just everything I read about buying a Ferrari seems to say to get an independent PPI.

Those are stunning cars you have Al. Carlo had some amazing cars there and I am really envious of his garages too!!

Hi Gav, I must have missed you by a day if you were down at Carlo's on Saturday. Funny enough, I did ask about the 348 as I used to have 1 of them from Carlo and I traded it back to him years ago but it was not mine in his garage. For what its worth, I think if you can really stretch your budget to a 355, it'll be a better buy as I'm sure you'll eventually trade up to a 355 if you own a 348 just now.....and I think they are value for money at the moment and BLACK looks gorgeous!

And both of my cars must be there when you were down at Carlos...... thumbup

Nice meeting you today Jim. Pity the weather was so awful at Knockhill.
